More street fairs with bands please

The Los Feliz Art Street Fair on Saturday was it was so good even though it was small and had no food trucks.
What it had was art. Bands. And Angelenos, some who put their pets in baby carriages.

the band that blew me away was Lord Friday the 13th, whose sister is on guitar, I hear.
They were so good a one-man pit opened up there on Hollywood Blvd just east of Vermont.

The art was good and the people were good and the ice cream store had a nice line coming out of it and the sushi roll joint seemed packed and the chicken place all seemed happy that there were no food trucks, although food trucks are people too.

i talked to some communists who had a little tent across the street from everyone. i wanted them to tell me why they thought mayor mamdani wasn’t to their liking, as per one of their posters.
they said he wasnt revolutionary enough.
very nice people. the revcons. it’s new communism, they told me.

met some very nice people from wacko whose shop was about 500 feet away.
i asked if it was a fun place to work and some guy said it was crazier in the ‘80s.
but what wasn’t? might have to track that guy down and hear some of the tales of when it was on melrose.

ran into the next mayor of LA, nithya raman, who was very nice.
when i introduced myself and gave her a business card she said, oh hear in LA. you’re the funny one.

earlier i had run into two of her staffers who had a shirt with the neighborhoods her district takes care of
they told me everyone wants one
another popular one was this Jack Black riding a Lime scooter in his crazy tie dye shirt.

it was made by Darren Vorel.
seemed like a good guy.

the art store on hillhurst that has that wizard holding a paintbrush was there.

It wasn’t the Sunset Junction Street Fest of times gone by.
But it was a step in the right direction.
Let’s get more of these.
